Congratulations to a Grand Showing by our beautiful queens at the Miss South Carolina USA & SC Teen USA Pageant held November, 18 & 19 at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center.

The festivities started on Thursday Night as the girls and their family without their director, who was very ill, met at Smokey Bones for a chance to meet and mingle with each other and exchange small good luck gifts , etc. and a chance to rest up for what the next few days held in store for them.

Early Morning Registration call gives the girls a first chance look at all of the other contestants. and catch up with some old friends.  Then it is sraight to the meeting with the parents and Dirctor Paula Miles and her staff.  After this straight to rehearsals for the night's preliminary show that will start in just a few hours.  Meanwhile,  the parents are given the task of moving  the queens  into their rooms. Back at the PAC the contestants work  and work some more perfecting the show fthat starts at 8 pm.  They must also find time to get dreseed and ready plus hopefully eat alitlle something , if they can, because now is time for the nerves to set in.

No time to worry much since interviews began with the teens at about 7:30 am on Saturday Morning.  After interviews, a short lunch and the moving of everything for the night's show to the dressing rooms, the contestants begin a second day of rehearsals for the Finals that will start at about 7pm.  While this is going on, our most important people, the parents, have to get everything else out of the rooms and moved to where they are staying, as the girls will not return to the hotel.  It is definitely a busy timje for all.

The girls say their final "good lucks" to each other as they make their way to the stage for the Final Night of Competition.  Wasting no time at all, the Top 15 in each of the divisions are announced, and we are excited to see that Jill Perry and Lauren Rickabaugh both had made the cut. Then this Top 15 is cut down to Top 10 and we are excited to see that Lauren is called.  As the pageant went on, the groups are narrowed down and the top five were announce.  It was  over for our girls for this year, but how proud are we for the fact that they competed well and made quite the showing.
