The Board of Directors of the Queen of Folly Beach/Edisto Beach Pageant remind each contestant and their parents to read all of the Pageant information carefully so that there is no misunderstanding of rules and regulations governing the pageant in any way.

Welcome A Bella Bouquet
We are proud to announce that Laura Eastman  and her company A Bella Bouquet as the official florist for our upcoming pageant.  Parents are encouraged to call Laura to order flowers for your favorite contestants and she will deliver them to the girls at the pageant site.  Also she will have a table set up that night. We are proud to announce that Linda Casorio and her Company Generations of Designs has joined our pageant family.  She and members of her staff will be available to do hair and make-up for contestants on pageant day.

We have extended our deadline until August 15.  Contestants are still being accepted at the $275 entry for Teen and Miss and $175 for Jr.Teen and Ms.  After the 15th the new entry fees will apply.  Please Get you pictures and ads in as soon as possible to assure that they appear in the program book.



 
 
 
Schedule of Events
Saturday, September 11, 2010

9am
Contestants meet for registration with their coordinators and at this time all outstanding paperwork and monies MUST be turned in.  Contestants will work on stage blocking for swimsuit, evening gown and crowning.  

11am
Contestants will go to Naval Museum for photo shoot in the outfits they will wear to the luncheon.  We changed this from swimsuits because of time.

Noon
Contestants will attend the Queen's Luncheon with their parents and the judges there on the property.  This is a great photo opportunity and the media will be there.

2pm 
Contestants return to rehearse the opening number with the emcee, vocalists and dancers.

4pm
 Contestants  get ready for the program.  They may either remain at the venue or leave to get ready. However, they should be in their appropriate dressing room and ready to go on stage no later than 6:15.

6:45pm  
Judges will be seated

7:00pm  
2011 Queen of Folly Beach/Edisto Beach Pageant will begin.
 
 
Judging Information
 
All contestants will be judged on three equally weighted categories:
 
Swimsuit:  These may be either one or two piece suits , but      should be in good taste.  No thongs or Brazilian cut suits will be allowed.  Ms. Contestants compete in one piece suit or 2 piece and may wear a wrap but bust take it off at some point.. 
Jr. Teen Contestants will compete in fitness wear and sneakers.
 
 
Evening Gown: You may wear an evening gown of your choice.  Be sure that it flatters  you in the best way.
 
 
On-Stage Interview: On stage interview will be held in your opening number outfit. ( Remember that the judges will also be talking with you and making notes during the Queen's Luncheon.  Dress for this is a summer dress with appropriate shoes.  You will also rehearse that morning in this outfit, so make it something comfortable.)
 
 
Opening Number Outfit: Your opening number outfit should portray the theme of the pageant.  Anything red, white and/of blue and lots of sparkle.
 
Photogenic Competition: This year we will give photogenic awards in the each division.   Each contestant will be judged on the photograph that is turned in to be used in the program book.  Be sure that you choose carefully.  These awards will be chosen by a celebrity judge that will not be named until the night of the pageant.
 
 
People's Choice Award: Each contestant will bring a jar with their name and a picture on it to be place out front so that everyone can vote in the People's Choice Award.
 
 
Registration is as easy as 1-2-3
You may copy  the forms from the web site or request them by email donnyfb@gmail.com or by calling Don (843) 343-2560 or Mary (803) 261-7400.  Sometimes it is hard to download this, so any way we will see that you receive it.
 
Send six copies of your application with pictures attached and 2 copies of the emcee sheet along with your head and shoulder photo for the program book including the $275 ( if received by July 31.  $300 if received after this date unless otherwise authorized by pageant office)
(Because we only offer one crown for the Jr. Miss and One crown for the Ms. the entry fee is $175.  $200 if received after July 31.)
non-refundable entry fee to the pageant office address below.  Any monies owed after September 3 must be paid by postal money order or in cash at registration.

The first five contestant who return all paperwork and fees will receive FREE FULL PAGE AD in the Program Book.  This is a $100 value.

Also included in your packet will be advertising information.  You may pay your fees by selling ads for the program book.  Remember when selling ads, these people will not come to you, you must go to them.  All ads will be due on July 31 and should be camera ready.
Also in order to help contestant with the fees, any contestant may request 10 tickets and must sell all of them at $10 a piece
(you must sell all ten.  No tickets may be returned.)

From Columbia Area: Take I-26 to North Charleston. At Montague Avenue take second exit. Stay on Montague Avenue until you come to traffic circle.
 
 
From Charleston, James Island etc.: Take I-26 to Montague Avenue. Take a right onto Montague. Stay on Montague until you come to traffic circle.
 
 
From Mt. Pleasant: Take I-26 to North Charleston Exit at North Rhett. Turn right on North Rhett and stay on this until you come to traffic circle. This is Park Circle. Get to the left lane and turn in to the parking lot. The event will take place in this building.
