The folly Beach Pageant 2011

The new pageant year has begun and we had a successful pageant thanks to my former queens, Madison Oswald, Brettany Griffen, Lindsey Lambrakos and especially to my hero Bianca Gardner who took over when I fell sick and needed help.  Them along with the help of several friends including my sister Teresa, and nephew Brett, along with Carol Murray, Shelly Hunter, Mary Wilson, Elena Gardner, and of course Andie Weathers mad the actual pageant a success.
Our numbers were way down this year, but the quality of our beautiful contestants was tops.  Our terrific judges
had a hard time narowing this group to just one.
Queen of Folly Beach-Jill Perry
Queen of Edisto Beach-Lauren Rickabaugh
Teen Queen of Folly Beach-Karmen Roller
Teen Queen of Edisto Beach-Michaela Campbell
Jr. Teen Queen of Folly Beach-Paige Holloway
Jr. Teen Queen of Edisto Beach-Mary Caroline Owen
We also recognized our two young ambassadors added this year and they are
Grace Chamberlain-Tiny Queen of Folly Beach
and
Avery Murray-Young Queen of Folly Beach
Also this year we recognize a wonderful lady who worked very hard as our liason with Folly Beach and was
crowned the Queen Mother of Folly Beach-Andie Weathers.
Every year we recognize the one person either in the pageant or associated with the pageant who best reflects the ideals of pageantry and its positive attributes plus their friendship to our pageant.
The Elizabeth Mills award is named for the beautiful daughter of our dear friend Laura Mills, who was killed by a Drunk Driver as a teenager.
Also this year each of the contestants brought non-perishable items to be placed in the food box to be donated to the Food Kitchen.
Our pageant's success is due to the love of our wonderful Folly Family and I'm proud to be a part of this wonderful group of caring individuals.

Sunday morning all of the contestants met at the beach under the pier with the official photographer
Clyde McDonald for the first of many photo shoots.
We invite you to keep up with our beautiful queens on their journey to the State Pageant as well as the many other pageants, festival and events that they will represent the beautiful Island Communities.
